September News Letter

Hello All,

Happy September!

Of course to all of us here in Florida it means peak hurricane season, and is always faced with some dread. The good news is that most of are now old pros at this and face it with a good deal of expertise and stoicism.

It also means the start of the orchestra season! The Brevard Symphony gets things started this year with their annual FREE Family Concert. The concert is at 2PM at the King Center and is part of an all afternoon celebration called the “Cultural Arts Showcase”.  Every year to kick off the season, arts organizations of every stripe from all over the county set up booths and present concerts and demonstrations. The BSO concert will be about an hour long and is designed for the entire family to enjoy together. I encourage everyone to attend and please stop by and say hello.

Later this month I have several students auditioning for the All State Festival. You all have worked very hard, so good luck!

Baseball’s regular season is winding down. It was a very disappointing season for my Washington Nationals. (They may not even finish at .500) It goes without saying that this is a serious underperformance for a team that a lot of experts picked to go to the World Series! But there is always something fun to watch no matter which teams are in the play-offs.

There will be a lot happening this season. Keep up to date with all upcoming concerts by following the news letter, and checking the performance page!

Fingers crossed about the hurricanes.
