I am off to the races with my summer practice routine. I know it sounds crazy, but I love this time of year. I have plenty of time to really dive in deep into the repertoire for next season. I love exploring all of the different recordings out there, looking through parts and scores, and just really immersing myself in all this great repertoire!
I will be keeping the same teaching schedule for the summer and I am trying to convince all of my students that summer is the BEST time to really make strides in your playing.
Right now, I have no trips planned. I had a wonderful Mother’s Day Weekend with Tom in Austin. I feel as though I got a good sense of his life there. Austin is a really fun city, especially if you are a millennial!
The garden is doing very well. I am trying to prepare it for the hot weather which has not really hit yet. The mornings and evenings have still been very pleasant. Scott and I have been enjoying a lot of beach walks and I have been doing classes at the Yoga Garden.
Finished reading “How to Think Like a Roman Emperor” by Donald Robertson. For those of you who are not familiar with Stoic Philosophy, I would recommend it. I continue to read passages every day in Ryan Holiday’s book, “The Daily Stoic”.
Hope you are all well.
